Seton Hall Basketball: Jeremy Hazell Out 4-6 Weeks

Last night's win was a high. This morning, a low was announced. According to various Tweets, first broken here, Jeremy Hazell is out 4-6 weeks with a broke scaphoid bone in his left wrist. Adam Zagoria wrote an article and Brendan Prunty will have one up shortly.

On a side note, I'm curious as to which play this happened on. I didn't notice anything at all, and I hadn't seen anyone mention the injury on any message boards..

What does this mean for Pirate fans? A lot more of Keon Lawrence and Jamel Jackson. Keon has played pretty poorly, which is not surprising. On the other hand, Jamel Jackson has been efficient. But lets not kid ourselves, Keon Jackson (no, thats not a typo), is no Jeremy Hazell.

If Hazell is out for a full 6 weeks, he would miss the rest of the OOC games, and the first 2 BE games (USF and Cincy). If hes out the minimum 4 weeks, he'd be back around the NJIT game. For the sake of all thats good, we hope that Jeremy has a speedy recovery. Its really a shame that this had to happen after two of the best games Hazell's played in recent memory.

Just saw this post in the side bar

and the date made me sad. 24 days ago? Just think that if Jeremy had gotten surgery right away we might be talking about how he’d be back in time for a tune-up against NJIT before the end of nonconference/start of BE play.
