Willard Lands First Recruit: Anali Okoloji

Stay connected for news and updates
It didn't take Kevin Willard long.  Anali Okoloji, a 6'8 forward from Impact Academy, FL (by way of Brooklyn), has verbally agreed to become Kevin Willard's first commitment as head coach of Seton Hall.  Okoloji, who was also recruited by Rice, Ole Miss, Providence, Tulsa and SMU, will join Fuquan Edwin, Eugene McCrory and Jamir Hanner should they hold their commitments.  Gotham Hoops broke the news this afternoon:

While being heavily-pursued by Iona College, the 6′8″ forward connected with then-head coach Kevin Willard. Upon Bobby Gonzalez' firing, the Pirates chose to hire Willard. Okoloji, who kept a firm relationship with coach Willard and assistant coach Shaheen Holloway, was invited to visit the campus today. After speaking with both coaches, the former Banneker high school student-athlete verbally committed to the Big East school.

"Coach Willard told me [Seton Hall] is a place where can develop [as a player]. [Big East has] top competition…you need to be ready day in and day out," " says Okoloji.

An extremely impressive performance this season as Okoloji dropped 35PTS/11REB/5AST:

Congratulations Anali and welcome to the Seton Hall family.  We're very excited to have you on board for a successful collegiate career.
