Seton Hall travels west to Ohio tonight to take on the Dayton Flyers in their first true road game of the season. The Pirate freshmen will look to their senior leaders Herb Pope and Jordan Theodore to guide them through what's sure to be a hostile environment. Despite being blown out at home to Buffalo (by 29!), the Flyers are typically very tough at home. Earlier this month, they pulled off the upset over #15, Alabama.
In order to leave Ohio victorious, Seton Hall will need to keep their composure and buckle down on defense. Another look at a soft 2-3 zone will do this team in. If Mercer abused the zone, Dayton has the ability to outright murder it. I'd expect the Pirates to open up in man-to-man look and fall back on it as often as they can, granted, Pope stays out of foul trouble. In order to pull that off, it's on Patrik Auda to bring help and show a little physicality tonight as Seton Hall needs to protect Herb Pope at all costs. If it means any combination of Patrik Auda, Brandon Mobley, or Aaron Geramipoor foul out, so be it. Keep Pope on the floor.
At the time of this publishing, I've been told there is no word on the status of Dayton's starting senior wing, Chris Johnson or senior reserve, Luke Fabrizius, though neither is present in early warmups, currently underway.

Was not able to watch or listen
but from the sounds of SOJ’s twitter, it sounds like we just proved we can do the following
1. Win in a tough environment
2. Win without a great game by Herb Pope
3. Win with Herb Pope in foul trouble
This win makes we MUCH more confident for Big East play because of these factors. Also, nice to see Cosby and Auda with nice stat lines.
