Seton Hall Basketball: JSBL Information

As some of you may be aware, the Jersey Shore Basketball League has been a hotbed of summer basketball activity in the Garden State for the past 42 years. This season, Seton Hall will field a team named Seaview Jeep (sponsor) in the summer league.

Games will be open to the public and span from late June to the first week of August. Here is the Seton Hall team schedule:

Mon June 27 - First Game vs Asbury Park Rec
Wed Jun 29 - Second Game vs Larson Ford
Tue Jul 5 - First Game vs Team Shore
Thurs Jul 7 - Second Game vs Asbury Park Rec
Tue Jul 12 - Second Game vs T&T Coast
Thurs Jul 14 - First Game vs Steve's Gutter Cleaning (Rutgers)
Tues Jul 19 - First Game vs Sterns' Trailer
Wed Jul 20 - Second Game vs Investment Savings
Mon July 25 - First Game vs Team Shore
Wed Jul 27 - First Game vs Larson Ford

Single elimination playoffs Aug 1-4

Games will be played at 7PM (First Game) and 9PM (Second Game). I'm not sure about admission since I haven't attended any games in the past but an article from last July said the games are all free. All games will be played at St. Rose High School in Belmar, New Jersey.

There will be eight teams split into two divisions. All eight teams make the single elimination playoffs.

Seton Hall freshmen Aaron Cosby, Sean Grennan and Brandon Mobley are all confirmed as playing. Sophomores Fuquan Edwin and Aaron Geramipoor (95% chance) will also be on the roster.

Freshman Freddie Wilson and transfer Eugene Teague are also possibilities.

As noted on the schedule above, Rutgers in fielding a team of their own. Freshmen Eli Carter, Jerome Seagears, Myles Mack, Greg Lewis and Derrick Randall are expected to be on the team. Additionally, transfer Wally Judge, sophomore Austin Carroll and junior Austin Johnson are expected to play.

I will attempt to attend a few games this summer (definitely the Rutgers game) -- the drive is exactly an hour from my house. I encourage everyone else to cheer on some of the younger Pirates that most of us haven't seen play in person yet.

For those who can't attend the games, I will provide player reports after the games. I'll try to focus on the incoming freshmen but topics like Edwin's shooting and Geramipoor's strength will also be covered.

I have an Excel sheet of every JSBL game. If anyone is interested, I can forward that to you. Just let me know.

I'm going to try and attend some as well, especially the Rutgers game.

It’s a bit of a drive from Jersey City, but I would really like to see these guys live to get an early read on them.

Drive

Yeah, I’m an hour flat. Going to definitely take the ride with a friend from Rutgers for that game. Undecided on the others.

I heard the roster is sort of dynamic (not sure how dynamic with only 5 guaranteed players) so I will tweet updates on which players will be at which games.

Will also pass along any information on the players on opposing teams. Probably some local guys that graduated from the Manhattans, Ionas, Monmouths that weren’t good enough to play in Europe. No clue though.
