Seton Hall and Marquette find themselves as two basketball clubs trending in COMPLETELY opposite directions. Since cracking the AP Poll for the first time in almost 11 years, the Pirates have spiraled out of control, dropping four out of their last five. Meanwhile, their opponent, the Golden Eagles check in ranked 15th, winners of their last six and have only dropped one game at home, this season. The Pirates haven't been able to purchase a bucket at a car wash these last two weeks presenting a possibility that tonight's contest could get ugly and out of control, early.
Terrific team defense from Seton Hall this evening will not afford them another slow start, offensively. If they come out unable to find bottoms, they'll leave Wisconsin two games under .500 in conference play and will face a tremendous uphill battle to finish even on the year. If they win tonight, their defense MIGHT have had something to do with the outcome, but it ain't happening if they shoot it under 40%, again. Put the ball in the hole.
Let's get back in the win column tonight, boys. As always, Let's Go Hall!

And yet again, Seton Hall is showing NO heart
Combine that with just AWFUL play from Auda, and what do you know, its looking like another loss. Where is the effort that was there in the first half? Im sick of this team

I am not happy with the result either but ...
this is no time to feel that way. They played with the #15 team to the end, good defense, covered the spread and tonight we saw another pont guard start to emerge. One or two shots fall and one or two less lapes and this becomes a W. That is what happens on the road.
Not to make excuses but the lapes happened when both Herb and Fu had 4 fouls. If they had a foul to give they may have played a little tighter.
Earlier this season, with 4 on Herb the team collaped. Not tonight. No moral victory here but a lot of positives to take. Looks like they are comming out of the slump. If they bring the same efforts to Stors on Sat, they come away with a road win.
The wall still looms large.
They didn’t get to the top and over to the other side. They came close – first half close. Too bad they couldn’t sustain it. But the shooting improved. The ball handling improved. Execution of Willard’s game planned improved. Willard also spread out the playing time a lot better – involving more players. That’s a major improvement But fouls, sloppy defense and not coming up big when big was important killed us again. We’re moving in the right direction. They just have to sustain the effort. They’ve done it before. Watch out Uconn! Watch out!!
Better showing tonight but....
Watching the second half was like slow torture.. Someone please tell me what Auda is doing in the game during the 2nd half when we need baskets? Willard is burning minutes from more capable scorers by continuing to go with Auda… He scored one basket and is averaging 2-3 points per game while playing 25-30 minutes… I like the kid’s effort but he is just not a scoring threat and he doesn’t rebound.
Theodore played more consistently tonight and at times looked like the JT from December.. However, there were some ill advised shots in the paint when a simple kick out to the perimeter was clearly the smart play.. Mobley is a promising player on both defense and offense for this young squad. Also, it was nice seeing Wilson make some clutch baskets when we needed them.
Edwin during the first half couldn’t hit water from a boat (including lay-ups). Luckily things changed for him during the second half. Pope had a nice showing tonight and but for the foul trouble would’ve done more damage on defense in the final minutes.
UConn game is looking worse every minute for our squad. I’m still not giving up on the season. Just such a letdown at this point though..
