Uh-oh, the big bad Big East is coming. - Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports
It looks like Seton Hall is on path for another date with the NIT. Do you think that the Pirates will exceed these expectations, fail to meet them or simply stay the course of mediocrity?
With Big East play tipping off as Pittsburgh takes on Cincinnati at noon today, it's appropriate to gauge how Seton Hall will fair in the Big East this season. The Pirates sit at 11-2 but could have easily finished 13-0 or 9-4 with close games against all of Washington, LSU, Wake Forest, Stony Brook and Rhode Island. KenPom currently has Seton Hall sitting at 82nd, good enough for 11th in the Big East with a projected record of 7-11, 18-13 overall.
The Pirates start their Big East slate with a trip to DePaul on Wednesday, who sport a 9-4 record after losing to Loyola (IL.) yesterday. Seton Hall will follow up DePaul with games against Notre Dame, Louisville, Providence and possibly Marquette before we see Kevin Johnson and Aaron Geramipoor back on the court. The Pirates close out their season with a favorable stretch of games against Villanova, Providence and Rutgers.
