Opening Line Connecticut (-7)

Let me start with apologizing in the advance for the probable starting lineups posted above. These two teams are both coming off of roster shakeups, Herb Pope is a game-time call (at the time of this writing) and oh yeah, George Blaney is back on the sidelines filling in for Jim Calhoun. It's anyone's guess who could receive the call for either team this afternoon. I'm assuming Willard will ride Fredide's hot hand, allowing him to start at the 2, while both he and Theodore will receive some early looks playing off the ball. Remember, Connecticut is Wilson's home state and the extra adrenaline gained allowing him the start could be the early spark the Pirates desperately need today.

As I said following Conecticut's loss to Georgetown, I honestly feel the loser of today's game is destined for the NIT. As for the winner? Well, they may eventually wind up there as well, but they'll at least be able to stop their respective skid and hold out hope (no matter how slim), that they can turn this thing around. One thing's for sure, somebody HAS TO win today. As always, Let's Go Hall!

Over the last 5 games we've averaged 55 pts.

To beat Uconn, we need to play into the 60s. With Herb we needed 10pts. Without Herb we need 20.

This is tough to watch...

17 points in the first half? With or without Pope 17 points is just ridiculous… Do they even practice shooting the ball between games? I cheer for this young squad as much as anyone but their play is outrageously bad. Losing those games to inferior opponents with Pope on the floor leads me to believe that this game was a loss even with him playing healthy.

What happened to our perimeter shooting? Cosby is MIA and JT hasn’t sniffed the rim from behind the arc.. Mobley has range and is somewhat consistent but it is a far cry from our season’s earlier percentages..

After watching all these games there’s one thing i’m pretty sure of…I don’t think I want any more CBA players.

Depressing...

I think I’ll save myself from getting disgusted watching this high school level play and wait for next season. I never thought I’d say that but it is too difficult watching this stuff. Embarrassing is the word.

Willard should’ve gotten the T’s and ejected back against notre dame or villanova when it mattered.. Now it is just too late to get the intended result. I must question the coach’s strategy between games in preparing. When there has been some adversity the players haven’t responded.

Pirates need a boost and Rutgers would be a nice shot to get a win. Some of our shooters need to use the bank shot to get back to basics and start making shots.. It would be better than shooting 0 for the century from outside of 5 feet from the basket.

I’m going out on a limb and calling the start of a winning streak IF (and it’s a big IF) Hall can miraculously beat Rutgers.

Don't count Rutgers as an easy win for the Pirates..........

Right now between the two teams (Seton Hall and Rutgers). The Rutgers is the team showing a lot more competitiveness spirit then the Pirates team. Right now Rutgers young players are showing more natural talent then Seton Hall’s.

We (Seton Hall) have to worry about not being swept this season by Rutgers

I hope we never sign another CBA guy ever

I am so sick of them. And also, Willard after the game had a very telling quote on why he got ejected

""I don’t mind getting blown out. I do have an issue when the refs enjoy the blowout." – Willard. Said it was between he & one ref."

So clearly one ref was happy and/or cheering that Connecticut was blowing out Seton Hall, and if that is true, I am proud of Willard for standing up for what was right and ripping him a new one. If that is true, that ref should be fired.

Pathetic!

And i don’t mean the game. I don’t believe anyone thought we had a chance to win especially after Pope was pulled. But the game itself and the behavior of the players and team was disgraceful. The team was desperate and lost control trying to catch up. Bad decisions and bad shoots are never going to win a game. Then the 2 Ts. And if that wasn’t bad enough our coach adds 2 more Ts. 4 Ts!? 4 Ts?! Are we back in the Gonzo era? This is totally unacceptable behavior on the part of the players and especially the coach. For weeks now Willard had been blaming the refs for our losses. And today when the game seemed to be called pretty evenly, he goes ballistic. Blaming the refs is the refuge of a bad coach. He lost control of himself. And he obviously lost control of his team. I think he should be suspended by the AD for the rest of the season. And a serious discussion should take place whether he should be retained. Bad behavior on the part of the players and coach just reminds the bball community of SHU’s reputation as Thug U. This kind of behavior affects too many people to allow it to go unchecked.

Look at the schedule

These Pussy Pirates will not win another game the rest of the year. I hope tough guy Herb is nursing his ole ribs. Are you kidding me that he did not come to support his team This bumch is a complete disgrace. Every time I think there is no way things can get worse, this awful team surprises me and sinks to a new low. A collapse of historic proportions. No pride whatsoever. An embarrassment to a proud university.
