Welcome to March and Game #30. One week after having Rutgers spoil their Senior Night at the Rock, the Pirates will aim to do the same to the Blue Demons out in Chicago. With a victory, Seton Hall will finish their 2011-12 campaign with 20 wins and a 9-9 conference record, a feat that every single Pirates fan would have signed off on prior to the season.
More importantly, a win would move Seton Hall closer to locking up an at-large berth for the NCAA Tournament. We've continuously thrown around the stat that 49 of 55 teams finishing 9-9 in the BEAST have made the tournament, so the numbers are clearly in the Pirates' favor with a road victory today. In my eyes, the Pirates may not lock up a berth with a win this evening, but it puts them pretty damn close.
It's been a wild, exciting and sometimes stressful ride this season, but here's hoping for a little success in the second (BET) season, while the third (NCAA) is less than two weeks away.
As always, LETS GO HALL.
