First broken by Jeff Goodman of CBSSports, Seton Hall will play in the 2013 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic along with Michigan State, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech. The event will take place on November 22nd and 23rd at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
"It's an honor and a pleasure for our program to compete in this prestigious tournament," said Seton Hall Head Coach Kevin Willard. "Basketball aside, we're proud to play a role in spreading cancer awareness and participating in fundraising efforts to fight the disease. On the court, we're looking forward to playing against a strong field in one of the finest venues in the nation."
Coaches vs. Cancer is partnered with truTV for television rights to their games. Last season, all four matchups were shown on truTV. CvC uses the same format as last season's Hall of Fame Tipoff. Seton Hall will play two games on campus before playing two games at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Top to bottom, CvC looks to sport a stronger field than last season's Hall of Fame Tipoff.
Michigan State will enter as heavy favorites to take the CvC crown. Virginia Tech will look to build upon their 13-19 season under James Johnson while Oklahoma is coming off a first-round exit to San Diego State in this year's NCAA tournament.
