Reports out of PirateCrew.com indicate that 2013 Swedish power forward Billy Magarity Jr. has chosen Boston College over Seton Hall and Temple.
Magarity took visits to all three of his finalists two weeks ago, before deciding on Boston College today. Seton Hall's recruiting focus shifted from Blaise Mbargorba to Magarity after failing to land the prior, who committing to Boston University earlier this month.
Landing Billy Magarity would have added valuable front court depth, since last year's medley of injuries showed that there can never be enough able bodies in South Orange. Furthermore, his 2013 classification would have provided two years of experience under Magarity's belt before Patrik Auda & Brandon Mobley depart. When Seton Hall receives a commitment from a 2014 power forward, they will presumably have just one season to acclimate themselves before being handed the reins.
This isn't the first time Boston College has battled Seton Hall on the trails. 2013 forward Garland Owens picked B.C. over the Pirates last fall.
Kevin Willard and his staff have already begun hounding 2014 center Chinanu Onuaku along with mainstay target 2014 forward Quadri Moore. Seton Hall will host 2014 SF Terry Larrier next Tuesday before he visits Rutgers on Wednesday. Larrier has taken recent visits to Minnesota (Dan McHale?) and Penn State. 2014 shooting guard Robert Johnson is also scheduled to visit Seton Hall on either Tuesday or Wednesday next week.
From this morning's Glass of Juice: Seton Hall has offered 2015 guard Jamil Hood. Hood is from Albany (N.Y.) and has also received offers from Penn State, Alabany, and Siena. Associate head coach Keith Urgo at Penn State is keeping close tabs on Jamil, who has unveiled his fandom of Penn State great Talor Battle. Hood was planning on visiting Seton Hall --- I am looking to confirm if he has, or plans to in the near future.
