Newark, NJ - The old cliche is you must protect your home turf. Seton Hall did not succeed in that , dropping a 64-57 decision to visiting Butler. The Hall is 3-5 in Big East while Butler earned its second conference win and stands at 2-7.
In a 62 possession game Butler enjoyed a 103-92 edge in offensive efficiency. As noted in Pre- game, the Bulldogs entered a 110 on the defensive end . Tonight a noticeable improvement. Seton Hall coach Kevin Willard noted the Pirates missed good looks and transition opportunities, especially down the stretch. Willard did credit the Buler defense.
Fuquan Edwin led the Hall with 20 points. He shot 8 of 18 but did have a game high 6 steals. Brandon Mobley did get praise from Willard for interior aggressiveness. The junior forward order 10 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and rejected 5 shots. In retrospect, the Hall mentor was concerned.
" I am perplexed because this team has ability and is just not doing it ( the job)" - Kevin Willard
