Two days after previously unbeaten Newark East Side dropped their first game of the season to Seton Hall Prep, "Beast Side" suffered a far greater loss on Saturday, as Ismael Sanogo separated his shoulder in a 59-49 victory over Monclair Kimberly Academy.
The Seton Hall signee, who is averaging 12 points and 10 rebounds per game in his senior year, took to Twitter, to explain the injury and the expected timetable of recovery.
Dislocated my shoulder today Smh— Ish (@_17ish) February 9, 2014
@YoungHidy_ like 4-6 weeks— Ish (@_17ish) February 9, 2014
@ShyyZaddyy I bump shoulders with someone then mine just came out the socket— Ish (@_17ish) February 9, 2014
The Star Ledger's article states that Sanogo's status for Friday's Essex County Tournament semi-final game is uncertain, but if Sanogo's 4-6 week timetable is accurate, it looks like his regular season with East Side could be in jeopardy.
From all of us at SOJ and the Seton Hall community, please get well Ismael. Here's to a speedy recovery.
