NCAA Tournament 2014: Friday's NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen TV Times, Primer

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

Unless you stayed up late last night you probably weren't too excited with Thursday's Sweet Sixteen action. Dayton held a 10-point lead for most of the game against Stanford, which kind of took the excitement out of seeing them make the Elite 8, and Wisconsin unexpectedly blew out Baylor 69-52 in a game that was never close.

In a rematch of the 2006 national championship and 2007 national semifinal, Kyle Anderson and UCLA bowed out to Florida, who held UCLA at arm's length for most of the game.Anderson declared for the NBA draft this morning, the St. Anthony (N.J.) product averaged 14.6 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 6.5 apg, and 1.8 spg as a second-year Bruin.

Arizona and San Diego State had the largest spread but wound up being the closest game on the night after the Aztecs led by as much as eight in both the first and second half but ultimately wilted late in the second half. Xavier Thames (25 points) got his, but took a lot of shots (9-22 fg) to do so.

Tonight offers an even better lineup of games, perfect for Friday night in front of the big screen or a night you may not remember at various liquor establishments. Tennessee looks to join Dayton as the two double digit seeds in the Elite 8 and almost former Pirate DeAndre Kane goes up against Shabazz Napier and UConn in the first round of games.

The late night matchups feature the Kentucky Derby: Louisville versus Kentucky (enough said) and a game in which many people have predicted Michigan State to knock off one-seed Virginia. The Cavaliers are coming off a 78-60 drubbing of Memphis to reach the Sweet Sixteen.
