Despite no open scholarships currently, Seton Hall is once again targeting a 2014 recruit.

Despite no open scholarships currently, Seton Hall is once again targeting a 2014 recruit. This time, the Pirates have found themselves on the list of Ohio de-commit Tariq Owens (Mt. Zion Prep, Md.).

On Friday, the 6-foot-10 Owens received a release from the National Letter of Intent that he signed with Ohio University last fall. A release was sought for several weeks after Ohio head coach Jim Christian left the program for the Boston College job earlier this month. Christian was replaced by former North Dakota State head coach Saul Phillips.

A product of the 'Baltimore's Finest' AAU program, who are sponsored by Under Armour, Tariq Owens had received an offer from Seton Hall prior to his commitment to Ohio last summer. Owens is rated 172nd in the 2014 class by 247Sports but has a composite ranking (takes other ranking services into account) of 131st, which essentially qualifies him as a top-150 recruit.

Tennesee, Dayton, Rhode Island, Washington, UT-Martin, UNLV, Kansas State, and Temple join Seton Hall on Owens' early list.
