The 2014 Men's Paradise Jam Tournament will be played from November 21st-November 24th on the campus of the University of the Virgin Islands. The eight participants are the Clemson Tigers, Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs, Seton Hall Pirates, Nevada Wolfpack, LSU Tigers, Old Dominion Monarchs, Illinois State Redbirds, and the Weber State Wildcats.
Seton Hall's first round game will be against Nevada. Nevada lost their top 2 players from last season: Cole Huff transferred to Creighton, and Deonte Burton is off to the NBA Draft. The game will played on CBS at 5 PM on November 21st. The winner/loser of this game will play the winner/loser of Clemson vs. Gardner-Webb. Clemson is expected to win, despite losing KJ McDaniels. So, if Seton Hall wins, they will face off with a very defensive-minded Clemson team. Losing, will pit the Pirates against a lowly Gardner-Webb team.
So, let's say Seton Hall loses to Nevada and faces off with Gardner-Webb. Hall is more than likely going to crush the Runnin' Bulldogs, and advance to play LSU/ODU/ISU/Weber St. I'd expect Weber State or Old Dominion to square off with you guys here. LSU is going to beat Old Dominion, but the Illinois State/Weber State match-up is up for grabs. If LSU gets knocked out of the tournament, they will probably beat ISU/WSU too, and play Hall in the 5th Place Game. That will probably result in Seton Hall going 1-2 and finishing 6th. However, in this Round 1 loss scenario, Hall will probably wind up going 2-1 and finishing 5th.
But, if Seton Hall beats Nevada, they'll face off with Clemson. Clemson will be looking to continue suffocating defenses even without McDaniels. If Seton Hall can find a way to smoothly run plays on the offensive side of the court, Seton Hall could advance to the final round, probably against LSU. But, Illinois State/Weber State could also pull an upset on LSU, giving Seton Hall a huge opportunity to win the whole thing. But, if it is LSU, Seton Hall will have to be content with a 2-1 2nd place finish. But, Clemson's dirty play might prove too much for Hall, putting Seton Hall in the 3rd Place game against either Illinois State or Weber State, in which case Hall should finish in 3rd (2-1).
