According to Jon Rothstein of CBSSports.com and Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog.com, Seton Hall's director of basketball operations, Grant Billmeier, will join Greg Herenda's staff at Fairleigh Dickinson.
FDU's Greg Herenda will hire Grant Billmeier as an assistant coach, source told @CBSSports. Replaces Zak Boisvert, who left for Maine.— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) June 4, 2014
Not a completely unexpected move, Billmeier's departure opens a second spot on Seton Hall's staff, of which the main assistant position is set to be filled by Abraham Lincoln head coach Dwayne "Tiny" Morton. As for the now open 'DoBO' role, it is believed that current assistant Fred Hill will be shifted down from his assistant position (explaining this job posting, which wasn't for Morton's position after all) or that another member of the staff will be upgraded to DoBO.
If the former situation takes place, which aligns with Seton Hall's job posting for an assistant coach, this means that Kevin Willard is in the market for a third assistant alongside associate head coach Shaheen Holloway and Tiny Morton.
Grant Billmeier coached on Seton Hall's staff for four seasons, three of which were under the coordinator of basketball operations title. The former Pirate center also captained two Seton Hall teams during his 2003-07 playing career and briefly coached as an assistant at St. Patrick (N.J.) prior to joining the Pirates' staff.
