Well, there's no Seton Hall transfer news as of yet, but today we learned what many have expected for weeks. Connecticut's Junior F/C Alex Oriakhi and Rutgers Sophomore F Gilvydas Biruta will both transfer from their respective Big East programs. Oriakhi will be eligible to play his last season immediately if UConn loses it's 2012-13 postseason appeal, while Biruta is said to be considering Maryland or reuniting with his former St. Benedict's High School coach, Danny Hurley, in Rhode Island. We wish both players well as we certainly won't miss either when facing their former teams next season.
SOJ's Robert Manganaro sits down with SBNation's Erin Sharoni. Dude is smooth... in front of the camera. Rob may have mixed up Syracuse & Pitt's departure to the A10, ACC, but the slight distraction is understandable.
Aquille Carr and his Patterson High School teammates will take on St. Benedict's Prep at 4:00pm as part of the Dan Finn Classic at the Jersey City Armory. If available, tickets can be purchased at the door ($10) and are good for all six games today. If you're unable to attend in person, you can also watch online for a $10 donation. Carr told Adam Zagoria on Wednesday: "I would like for all Seton Hall fans to come out."
Seton Hall Commit, Aquille Carr, dropped 19 points as Patterson defeated Price in the Brandon Jennings Invitational last night. Carr broke multiple ankles before being named MVP of the game.
Following two games in which he averaged 20 PTS and 7 AST per contest, Jordan Theodore was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the first time this season. Joining Theodore are UConn's Shabazz Napier, Providence's Vincent Council, Notre Dame's Jack Cooley, and Louisville's Kyle Kuric. UConn's Andre Drummond was the Rookie of the Week, while West Virginia's Kevin Jones was Player of the Week. Also, for the first time this season, Herb Pope did not receive a nod to the Weekly Honor Roll. The Pirates return to action Wednesday against #1 Syracuse at the Carrier Dome at 7 PM.
Former Pirate, Jeremy Hazell, was added to the Phoenix Suns preseason roster on Sunday. Tonight, the Suns are hosting a team scrimmage for season ticket holders and streaming the action live on their website. Hazey will be wearing #2 this pre-season as he competes for a roster spot. Follow the link above to watch the game at 8:30pm. Best of luck, Jeremy! Bottoms!
From Andy Katz: "The Hall of Fame made the smart move of going from Springfield, Mass., to Connecticut's Mohegan Sun for its non-conference tournament...The event had a huge lift with Kentucky as its marquee school last month. But the Hall of Fame is now getting a field worth circling going forward. The four main teams in 2012 will be Ohio State, Washington, Seton Hall and Rhode Island."

Here is my recruiting roundup for the past week.
This is well worth a look - great shot of last night's Carrier Classic. MSU's AD is a real out of the box, forward thinking kind of man - I applaud his 2MIL fund raising effort.
