Seton Hall Basketball: All-JSBL Honors

Per Josh Newman of the Asbury Park Press via Twitter: Fuquan Edwin made 1st team (and rightfully so), Patrik Auda made 2nd team (making me wish I didn't go on vacation, missing a key game vs Seaview), and Aaron Cosby made 4th team. Congrats to all the Pirates!

Seton Hall Basketball: Charleston Classic Bracket Revealed, Pirates face VCU in 1st Round

The 2011 Charleston Classic bracket is out, and the Pirates have drawn NCAA Cinderella VCU in the first round. The game will air at 5:30 PM on ESPNU, with the winner taking on the winner of Georgia Tech- St. Joe's in the second round. The tournament is like the Paradise Jam last year, in that even if the Pirates lose, they will still continue playing. Unfortunately, not all the games are televised, so stay tuned for that info. Other first round matchups include Tulsa-Western Kentucky, the aforementioned GT-St. Joe's, and LSU-Northwestern, the best matchup of the first round. More will be posted here on South Orange Juice as the tournament draws near.

Zags: Anderson, Canty Could Play Together in College

"They can play together because ‘Nunu’ [Canty] is a combo guard and Kyle is basically a point forward," said Dana Dingle of the Lightning, who is helping to advise Canty on his college choice. "Kyle is more of a distributor than a scorer and ‘Nunu’ is more of scorer than a distributor. But in Vegas he was working on his distributing." "I believe they both can play together because they have."

NYT: Talk of Passports, Not Passes, in Idled N.B.A.

"It is definitely frustrating just because when I come out my senior year, there’s a lockout," said Hazell, who finished his four-year career at Seton Hall third on the program’s career scoring list with 2,146 points but was not selected in the N.B.A. draft last month. "But it’s just the process you got to go through. I can’t stop it, so whatever I got to do to get in the league or to go overseas, me and my agent are going to work on that."

Aaron Cosby Debuts at JSBL; Drops 30 Points

From Joshua Newman: A rough first half from the field (1-for-11, six points) on Thursday gave way to a tremendous second half that helped the Louisville native finish 11-for-29 from the field for a game-high 30 points as he helped power Seaview Jeep past Asbury Park Recreation, 95-83, at St. Rose High School.
