Cleveland Melvin Commits to UConn

Cleveland Melvin, a 6'8, 200 pound forward is the latest to join Connecticut's 2010-11 class, choosing UConn over Seton Hall, Depaul, USF and TCU.

From ZagsBlog:

Melvin joins 6-9 C Michael Bradley of Chattanooga, Tenn., and 6-4 SG Jeremy Lamb of Norcross, Ga., in UConn’s 2010 recruiting class.

It would have been great if Gonzo landed Melvin, snatching away another recruit from a major program, much like he did to Louisville with Jesse Morgan.

That being said, I'm not terribly disappointed losing Melvin after securing Fuquan Edwin last week. Granted, they play different positions, with Melvin at the 4 and Edwin at the 3, but Scout has them ranked pretty closely. Both are 3 star recruits with Melvin ranked as the #40th PF and Edwin the 47th SF. You win some, you lose some, good luck Melvin.
