The Morning After: Five in Double Figures Handle Blackbirds

New, 2 comments
Please check out my initial thoughts of Seton Hall's play here.

The AP recap of the game:
The Seton Hall defense caused trouble for the Blackbirds (2-3) all night. The Pirates forced 21 turnovers and had 14 steals, including a game-high 7 by Harvey. The Pirates also had eight blocked shots, with three each by Pope and John Garcia, who had 11 rebounds.
The SHU Athletics summary:
Five players scored in double-figures to guide the Seton Hall men's basketball team to a 95-66 win over LIU on Saturday night. The win improves the Pirates to 4-0 on the season, who host NJIT at Prudential Center on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
Jenny Vrentas, of The Star-Ledger, focuses on the play of Herb Pope, who set the tone for his teammates to follow last night:
"They probably laughed when I said this, but I said Herb Pope getting a double-double is like dying and paying taxes," Gonzalez said. "It’s something that’s going to happen."
"I think I was the spark, that’s all," Pope said. "I want to set a tone. I play hard and, like I said in the preseason, I’m going to be one of those guys that every night in, every night out, you know I’m going to play hard."
