Post Game: Seton Hall 89 Cornell 79

Seton Hall 89 @ Cornell 79
Initial Post-Game Thoughts:

-Does Gonzo have a new point guard? Theodore clearly provided the spark that this team was looking for early.  After falling into an early 8-0 deficit, Theodore was inserted into the game, giving the team a boost on offense while playing stifling defense.  He stayed in for much of the first half, playing 13 minutes, opposed to Harvey's 6.

Theodore also started and played the majority of the 2nd half.  It was clear Gonzo put his trust in Theodore's hands to lead the Pirates home.  Harvey didn't reenter the game until it was out of reach, serving (what was supposed to be) mop-up duty with 3 minutes remaining. The senior didn't look happy while he was on the court and hopefully everything works itself out as both players will need to play integral parts if the Pirates are to have a successful season.

-Jeremy Hazell was simply unconscious tonight, finishing just two points shy of his career high with 33 points on 5-7 3PT shooting.  The first game against SPC was clearly not a foreshadowing of his season to come and no reason to worry.

-Herb Pope finished with a double-double (11PTS, 12REBS), dominating the glass on both sides of the floor.  Pope only shot 4 of 14 from the floor, including a couple of missed dunks, however he twice showed his maturity in calming down his teammates as things got chippy between the two squads.
