Seton Hall Basketball: Offseason Link Roundup, Recruiting Trail, Biruta, Tagliabue, Sheeran

Saying Kevin Willard and staff are off on running on the recruiting trail would be quite the understatement.  Jerry Carino reports:

Seton Hall's coaching staff is making inroads with two of New Jersey's top high school juniors. They hosted LaQuinton Ross and Jarelle Reischel for unofficial visits on Thursday. Ross is a Top 50 prospect, a 6-foot-8, smooth-shooting wing from Life Center. He's on the radar of most of the big boys. Now Seton Hall's on his radar. Reischel, a 6-6 wing from Point Pleasant Beach who was an All-Shore selection this past winter, also liked what he saw in South Orange.

Unfortunately for the Pirates, Gil Biruta has had a change of heart and will remain at Rutgers:

"I am definitely coming to Rutgers," Biruta told Jerry Carino of Gannett New Jersey after the story was first reported here. "I'm excited to see who the new coach is."

Former NFL commish, Paul Tagliabue, has been hired by the BIG EAST to fight the BIG TEN expansion.

"Everything is on the table. Everything is an option for us at this point," Marinatto said by phone from Scottsdale, Ariz., where the BCS commissioners are meeting. "We're going to stop thinking old, traditional ways and start thinking new ways. That's where Paul is going to help us."

Exiting President, Monsignor Sheeran will be the keynote speaker for this year's graduating seniors:

In his final weeks at Seton Hall, University President Msgr. Robert Sheeran will address students and their families as the keynote speaker at the 2010 Baccalaureate Commencement Ceremony on Monday, May 17 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ.
