Opening Line (Seton Hall -17.5) |
We're back in business! For the first time in nearly twelve years, historic Walsh Gymnasium will play host to a regular season contest between the Pirates and the University of Missouri - Kansas City. The venue is a familiar spot of varying emotions to Kevin Willard's squad as the Pirates split their NIT contests at Walsh last March, defeating Stony Brook, before Chaz Williams dropped 20-points as UMass put a once promising Seton Hall season to bed.
Dwelling on the past serves little purpose tonight as the Pirates welcome in a slew of newcomers, in Freshmen PG Tommy Maayan and C Kevin Johnson, along with incoming Junior transfers SF Brian Oliver and C Eugene Teague and Senior SG postgrad transfer, Kyle Smyth.
Tonight's action is the opening round of the 2012-13 Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. The Pirates take on Norfolk State, Monday at the Prudential Center, before heading north to Mohegan Sun (CT) for a date with Washington and Ohio State/Rhode Island, next weekend.
Follow the SOJ staff (links above) for live tweets throughout tonight's action. Of course, we'll be back with instant post game reaction and Chris McManus who is reporting from Walsh for the Juice with have a full gamer in the morning.
As always, Let's Go Seton Hall!
