Opening Line (Seton Hall -12.5) |
On Tuesday evening, Seton Hall will return to Walsh, their on-campus gymnasium for the first time in 11.5 years and will attempt to win it's first NIT contest in nearly 56. After narrowly missing the NCAA Tournament, the Pirates have been invited back to the NIT for the second time in the last three years. Of course, we know what happened against Texas Tech, so there's no need to re-hash the awful memories, let's just focus on the present, shall we? Should the Pirates handle business against Steve Pikiell's Stony Brook Seawolves, they'll host at least one more game at Walsh, sometime between, Thursday and Sunday.
Obviously, the biggest question of the evening is, "Which Pirates team will show up?" Consistency has been the Pirates biggest achilles heel this season and I'm certainly wondering whether the, "NCAA-Snub," will weigh on their minds and present itself in their performance, this evening. Will Coach Willard have the players mentally prepared and focused to take care of business against a clearly inferior (on paper) team? The NIT can and should be a tremendous learning experience for our young guys. Hopefully, that learning experience is a positive one.
As always, Let's go Hall!
