Seton Hall freshman guard Jaren Sina has been named Big East Rookie of the Week for November 18th-24th. He is the first Seton Hall freshman to earn the award since Fuquan Edwin in 2010. The award comes a week after Edwin was named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll.

Jaren Sina averaged 8 ppg (5-10 3pt) during the week that included games against Monmouth, Oklahoma, and Virginia Tech. Sina's most memorable stretch of play occurred during the first half of the Virginia Tech contest when he scored 13 points (4-5 3pt) and assisted on a Brian Oliver 3-ball in a 6-minute span. The scoring surged helped Seton Hall overcome an early 14-6 deficit over the first 6:30 of the game. Sina scored his career-high 13 points in just 16 minutes of action after being rotated with Tom Maayan, Brian Oliver, and Sterling Gibbs.

Pirate forward Patrik Auda is scheduled to see a doctor at 3 p.m. today regarding his re-injured right foot. While it doesn't appear that the screw has been bent and swelling has went down, Seton Hall has just one true test (@ Rutgers) before starting their Big East schedule against Providence on New Year's Eve -- it may just be best if Auda was rest for longer than necessary.

Games against N.J.I.T. and Long Island could prove to be the toughest meetings outside of Rutgers.
