Seton Hall has come a few steps closer to completing their 2013-14 non-conference schedule. The Pirates will host Big Sky opponent Eastern Washington in late December. The rumored date is December 21st, a Saturday.

Kent State (November 13th), Saint Peter's, Niagara, and Monmouth have also been confirmed as part of Seton Hall's pre-Big East slate. Niagara, like Kent State, is participating in the non-Brooklyn phase of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. N.J.I.T., a perennial non-conference opponent, is another prime candidate to join Seton Hall's schedule.

UPDATE (6/16 9:30PM): The Pirates will trip to Mercer, located in central Georgia, to complete their home-and-home series that started in 2011. It took overtime two years ago for Seton Hall to defeat a Mercer team that returns four players that scored in double figures during the first meeting. The Bears play in Hawkins Arena (capacity: 3,500), so we're looking at what could turn out to be a tedious trip to Macon, Georgia.

The staff had been actively looking to play at a high-major in early December, it doesn't look like that will come to fruition.

Recruiting Notes:

Seton Hall is one school that is recruiting 2014 center Chinanu Onuaku the hardest. Rutgers, Maryland, Virginia, and Kansas State have all offered Chinanu, the brother of Arinze Onuaku, in recent weeks.

The staff has recently offered 2014 guard Robert Johnson (Benedictine, Va.) -- Villanova, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, and Florida State have done the same. VCU has also offered.

6-foot-9 2014 forward Rashaan Armstead-Holloway (Schalick, N.J.) has received interest from Seton Hall. Rashaan has offers from Fairfield, Temple, Drexel and La Salle. He has scheduled a visit to Rider soon. Last season, Rashaan averaged 22.8 ppg for Schalick, which produced former Seton Hall lock-down guard Paul Gause.

Seton Hall has expressed interest in 2014 forward Nana Foulland (Berks Catholic, Pa.) of Team Final. Nana has offers from mid-majors Bucknell, Delaware, George Mason, Rider, and Boston University. Wake Forest has also shown interest.

2015 wing Markis McDuffie (St. Anthony, N.J.) has yet to see much time on the varsity squad, but already has a ton of mid and high-major interest. Seton Hall, Miami (Fla.), Cincinnati, Saint Joseph's, Wake Forest and Oregon State have shown interest, among others. Here is an article from April on Markis.
