Dwayne (Tiny) Morton to coach Seton Hall recruiting class in 2014 Capital Classic

New, 4 comments

Seton Hall's top-15 incoming recruiting class is teaming up again prior to arriving on the school's South Orange, New Jersey campus.

This time they will be coached by Abraham Lincoln (N.Y.) head coach Dwayne "Tiny" Morton, who is expected to join Seton Hall's coaching staff sometime before July. Isaiah Whitehead, Desi Rodriguez, Angel Delgado, and Khadeen Carrington will all play for Morton as part of the 2014 U.S. All-Stars in the 2014 Capital Classic. The 40-year old high school all-star game is self-described as "the longest running high school basketball All-Star game in the country and since 1974 it has been a beacon in the Washington, DC community, showcasing some of the nation's top high school basketball talent." The all-star game will take place on April 26th at 7:30 at TC Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia.

Tiny Morton was initially linked to Seton Hall when Isaiah Whitehead committed to the Pirates last fall, but his path to Kevin Willard's staff became clearer yesterday when it was officially announced that USF has hired assistant coach Oliver Antigua. Angel Delgado, Antigua's main recruit, is expected to stay a member of Seton Hall's recruiting class.

In related spring action, Desi Rodriguez, Angel Delgado, and Khadeen Carrington will join Ismael Sanogo in the Jordan Brand Classic regional game at 4:30 this Friday. Isaiah Whitehead will not participate in the national game due to a hamstring injury.
