A native of Brno, Czech Republic, Seton Hall power forward Patrik Auda was invited to play with the Czech National Team this spring as his country looks to qualify for next summer's FIBA EuroBasket 2015 tournament.
After briefly practicing with the national team last week, Auda played with the Czech 'B' team in two friendlies against Slovakia, scoring 12 points, and impressing a reporter in the process, and then 23 the next day. Auda registered one of his scoring outbursts that Seton Hall fans are familiar with by pouring in 14 of the Czech Republic's 20 points in the first quarter en route to a 83-69 win.
As a result of Auda's performances, he and six other members of the 'B' team (two forwards) were promoted to the 'A' team ahead of what looks to be a final cut for the national team on July 3rd. That final squad will then prepare for July friendlies against Austria (July 12th), Poland (July 18/19th), Russia (July 23rd), Israel (July 24th), and Holland (August 3rd) ahead of EuroBasket qualifying games in early August.

If Auda continues to impress head coach Ronen Ginzburg over the next week and then month, he may play a role for his country in August's qualifiers.
