Seton Hall offers 2015 guard Dalton Soffer

Roselle Catholic's Chris Silva wasn't the only recruit on Seton Hall's campus yesterday.

On the heels of 2015 guard/wing Dupree McBrayer's commitment to Minnesota last week, it appears that the coaching staff is still attempting to bring in a guard not named Isaiah Briscoe with the three scholarships they have available for the 2015 recruiting class.

The Hall offered 2015 shooting guard Dalton Soffer (Gamepoint/Poway High School, Calif.) yesterday on his unofficial visit to Seton Hall's South Orange, N.J. campus.

A virtually unknown recruit prior to this summer, Dalton Soffer picked up a handful of scholarship offers from Manhattan, Yale, Colgate, Siena, Bucknell, and Loyola (Md.) after an impressive July. Soffer turned some heads at the BasketBull Summer Championships in Springfield, Massachusetts, clearly catching the eyes of head coach Kevin Willard and associate head coach Shaheen Holloway, who were both present.

By the looks of it, Soffer is the definition of a shooting guard. He is lights-out when spotting up from beyond the arc while also displaying the ability to create some room for himself when needed. The sharpshooter averaged around 18 ppg. as a sophomore in high school.

Here's another clip from the end of Dalton's junior season at Poway High School (Calif.), which is located about 30 minutes north of San Diego. Soffer was apparently without a D-I offer until this summer.

Along with 2016 Temple Gibbs Jr., Dalton Soffer is perhaps the purest shooter that I've seen Seton Hall recruit since Jaren Sina, who always put on a show from beyond the arc while at Gill St. Bernard's. And we all know how much Kevin Willard likes his shooters.
