Seton Hall coaching staff to hit the recruiting trails on Tuesday

Reports have linked Seton Hall's staff to being in three locations tomorrow/the rest of the week.

A two-month 'live' recruiting period begins at midnight tonight (9/9) and runs through November 9th, which is just prior to the early signing period for high school seniors (Class of 2015). During this time, which varies from a 'quiet period', coaches may evaluate recruits in person (workouts), conduct in-home visits, host kids on visits -- the whole litany of recruiting possibilities. In comparison, coaches may only interact face-to-face with recruits while on campus during a 'quiet period'.

So far, reports have linked Seton Hall's staff to being in three locations tomorrow/the rest of the week:

The staff is either recruiting 2015 guard Desure Buie as a back-up option to Isaiah Briscoe and Dalton Soffer or they are scouting some younger kids that have not yet been linked to Seton Hall. The Hall has shown interest in Buie in the past, but there hasn't been any recruiting activity since late spring/early summer when he planned visits to Creighton, Seton Hall, Saint Louis, and Old Dominion that to my knowledge never happened.

Elsewhere, the staff will be checking in on two elite junior guards from local schools in both New York and New Jersey.

Christ the King's (N.Y.) Rawle Alkins has all kinds of high-major offers including Louisville, North Carolina State, Indiana, and Kansas this summer. All four of those schools will be in New York tomorrow along with long-time recruiters of Alkins in Villanova, Cincinnati, and Seton Hall.

Finally, Seton Hall, Rutgers, and Louisville will be the first schools in to see 2016 guard Tyus Battle of Gill St. Bernard's (N.J.) this week.

To an even greater degree than Rawle Alkins, Battle is being pursued by national powerhouses. Kentucky, Duke, and Syracuse have all thrown their hats in the ring of late -- one of those schools will be in Jersey this week.

In related recruiting news, Boston University will start their live period off by sending two coaches out to Southern California for their in-home visit with Dalton Soffer, as SOJ reported last week.

In relation to the Isaiah Briscoe sweepstakes, 2015 top-25 point guard Jalen Brunson chooses between Illinois and Villanova on Wednesday. As I wrote here, Villanova is one of the schools that I don't think need Briscoe. That sentiment would amplify with a commitment from Brunson on Wednesday.
