A report indicates that Seton Hall freshman guard Isaiah Whitehead has been practicing with the team and is questionable for tonight's game in Milwaukee against Marquette. Whitehead is averaging 11.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg, and 3.4 apg but has missed the last eight games due to a stress fracture in his right foot.
This has confirmed what I've heard from multiple people about Whitehead's practice status over the last week or so. I'll maintain that he is doubtful for tonight instead of questionable.
Tonight's clash with the Golden Eagles marks the five-week mark since a stress fracture was picked up during an MRI on Christmas Eve, a time frame that Kevin Willard has previously referenced as being handed down by the doctor.
Despite that, Willard has made it clear that he will err on the side of caution with Whitehead's injury to avoid a setback and has most-recently stated that his star freshman will return against Xavier or DePaul and references a six-week time frame. That is something that appears to line up with what Zach Braziller of the Post has heard.
Whether or not Whitehead laces them up tonight, he has taken to Twitter to get his teammates and fans motivated. The Hall tips off with Marquette at the Bradley Center at 7 e.t. on Fox Sports 2.
