In need of a post forward in their 2014 recruiting class, perhaps Seton Hall will cash in via the transfer market.
6-foot-8 Arizona transfer Craig Victor has recently decided to change schools and Seton Hall is among the schools being considered, according to a ZagsBlog.com report. LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Tulane, Oklahoma State and San Diego State are also in the mix for the forward when he decides this coming weekend. LSU and Oklahoma State were involved when Victor committed to Arizona while at Findlay Prep (Nv.). A native of Louisiana, Victor played at St. Augustine prior to moving to Findlay for his senior season.
UPDATE: Jon Rothstein's list of schools has Ohio State instead of Tennessee. I've seen a third source that includes Ohio State as well.
Once a top-50 recruit, Victor has failed to see much time as a freshman and that wasn't projected to change going into his sophomore season as a Wildcat, explaining the switch. Victor was averaging 3.1 ppg and 1.1 rpg in 7.1 mpg. The former Wildcat will become eligible after the first semester next season and is billed as a versatile power forward with a motor.
New Orleans Elite head coach Greg Holmes told Adam Zagoria the following about Seton Hall and Craig Victor:
"He has a good relationship with Isaiah Whitehead. When they first heard he was transferring, Isaiah was the first one to give him a call. He knows Isaiah from camps and they always were on the same team and always were roommates at the camps."
Whitehead and Victor linked up on the same team at the Adidas Nations event a few years ago. While he's not available immediately next season, Seton Hall could really benefit from college-ready talent in their frontcourt after the departure of Brandon Mobley.
