Primer for Chris Silva's press conference today

2015 power forward Chris Silva (Sports U/Roselle Catholic, N.J.) will make an announcement about his college future today, his birthday.

Reebok Breakout Classic

When: 3:15 e.t.

Where: Roselle Catholic High School (N.J.)

Stream: NJ.com's UStream

The schools: Seton Hall, South Carolina, Rhode Island (suspected to be out)

Why South Carolina needs Silva: While the Gamecocks will have at least three seasoned post forwards for 2015-16, Silva's freshman year in Columbia, their front court is projected to be nearly vacant for Silva's sophomore year and beyond. Playing time will be ample at the SEC school.

Why Seton Hall needs Silva: Following the graduation of Brandon Mobley in the spring, Seton Hall has just center Chier Ajou, and power forwards Rashed Anthony and Angel Delgado in their 2015-16 frontcourt, all three of which have a combined 32 minutes of D-1 experience. It's unknown whether 6-foot-7 freshman Mike Nzei translates as a Mobley-type power forward or more of a small forward at the next level.

Regardless, a local (RC is 20 minutes from Seton Hall) top-100 forward is a must-get for a program that needs a post guy, especially when he is the last high school power forward linked to Seton Hall in the 2015 class and has been a top priority for some time.

247Sports' Crystal Ball: 7 of 8 analysts who have predicted Silva's destination this month have chosen Seton Hall. CBSSports' Jeff Borzello thinks Rhode Island will land Silva.

SOJ's prediction: South Carolina

We will be at Chris' press conference today. Expect more coverage following his announcement.
